The envisaged 123Agreement between India-USA, (after two years of tough bargaining by our diplmats,nuclear scientists and national security advisor)has far liberal stipulations than those imposed on China . For example India is allowed to reprocess spent fuel, without seeking permission .Our nominated power reactors will be inspected by IEAE and not by US inspectors.The coal soot belched into the atmosphere by our coal fired power stations , as also in China , is already having serious climatic effect ( both in India & China ), in the shape of very severe floods in many states & even in the deserts of Rajasthan. After signing such agreement, if China is following an independant foreign policy , why is there a fear that a great & economic powerhouse like India will be subjugated by USA . The India of today is not the India of 1960's when we were dependent on US PL-480 shipments of wheat to feed our nation.We still retained our independant foreign policy by voting against US sponsored UN resolutions on numerous occasions. We signed the Indo-Soviet Friedship Treaty in the 1970's and despite the doomesday sayers , kept our independant forign policy intact.If we could do that during the bipolar cold war era, when India was not so economically powerful; where is the fear now in a multi-polar world of being subjugated by USA.For further progress, raising our population above poverty-line,providing full employment and a better standard of living for all, w
