u r fooling urself if u confuse religion with politics. strive for hindu unity and dynamism,but when u confuse politics with it.it is guaranteed that u will make noise and not achieve anything. the lower castes should be given space and respect within hinduism and that requires that certain monopolies should end. strive for that and dont feel insecure within ur own country where u r a majority. realise that it is stupid to imagine that in a hindu majority country a political party will try to antagonize the majority.

Lower castes are perfectly welcome, the government deliberately does not spend on education for people in villages, its the fault of the govt., they can blindly spend 42000 crore for a defence contract for fighter jets to fight a probable war (which may or may not take place), But, when it comes to education and empowerment of farmers each and every finance minister lies in the budget about their commitment to education and farm sector. u do not blindly spend on defence,we spend what is necessary. it has to do more with social relations. farmers generally do quite well,only when there is a drought do they feel the pinch. people with no education are more mature and wise than the educated people who post on rediff. they vote after considering the issues at hand. the so called lower castes do not feel that they have space within hinduism,a leader like vivekananda is the need of the hour,what we least need is someone like togadia who only ends up driving people out of hinduism.

Lower caste people are welcome to make their choice regarding religion, if they hate hinduism, they can graduate to Christianity, Islam and company. But, has it solved their problems? No, they still are poor, they still are scared of completely leaving their identity and retain their caste name. Tell me, how can a Dalit Muslim/Christian concept occur, that to only in India. In China - anyone coming in the way of progress would have been taken to either a labour camp or if he is a threat to public order , jailed or shot. China is galloping fast and growing rapidly and there are people in India who in the name of religion are disturbing a highly commited government from discharging its duties.
Furthermore - the private Hindi TV news channels are playing a huge role in inciting the people against secularism and Indian government and must all either behave or Priya Ranjan Das Munshi should close them. The Ram Sethu controvery is a creation of these Hindi channels trying to exploit sentiments of people of Hindi belt in order to increase their TRPs. The TV channels have to uphold secularism as defined by the constitution and if they do not , they must be closed. Any person against secularism will not be allowed to speak on TV much like the way it is in Turkey or France.

I think the English channels are doing just fine. I watch both - and my Hindi is just as good as my english for me to understand- so no the difference in quality of stories , reporting , balance and depth of analysis. The Headlines Today channel though seems a little amateurish. CNN-IBN is #1 and NDTV is a distant #2 in quality because Rajdeep took the best reporters from NDTV when he started the channel.

Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep are perfect . It is the BJP wallahs and Bajrangis who beg them to get into big fight and other programs. They would not if they think Barkha is biased. She gave the most fascinating tale of Indian bravery during Kargil risking her life. Her approach is human and balanced. BJP guys are always trying to please Barkha , Thapar and Rajdeep ( Sagarika ). Sagarika literally tore Abhishek Singhvi and Das Munshi apart on the Code of Conduct bill. They do not spare Congress guys and take them to task even more because Caongress is in power - but with facts and data - not stupidity which Hindi channels resort to.
