Karunanidhi remarks has taken everybody by surprise. Especially, south India where every fourth person is either Ram or Krishna or both, remark of Karunanidhi shows that he has not learnt aging. Lot has been sent about Lord Rama and I as a Hindu have no hesitation that he is omni present. But in the all this hullabaloo, Congress is waiting for its turn patiently as the party has to clean its image before Dusshera on one hand to remain in hindi heartland and on the other hand, to run its present UPA, it also requires the support of DMK.
Manmohan Singh had been operated so he has the option to stay away from Dusshera. Sonia Gandhi may go to hospital a day prior to dusshera with a complaint of uneasyness and sudden faintings. How hard these shrewed politicians may try, but replacing Ram is not possible for any of these. Yes, Setusamundaram project should immediately be shelved and the setu should be declared a place of religious importance and an important religious point which every Hindu should visit once in life time other than the four Dhams.
It doesn't matter to me whether Ram was born 10 years before Christ or 1000 years, for me there is no religious figure which matches his persona and simplicity. The Problem is not Ram The CPM could have brought down Congress Government with Nuclear Issue. Congress diverted this by filing affidavit for Ram Sethu Project. It is simple when major development decisions such as Nuclear deal hits roadblock due to oppoition then create a religious problem. In India Sethu has more media coverage than Nuclear deal. Prakash Karat was getting a lot of media attention which could increase their popularity. Since Congress wanted to pass Nuclear deal and did not want CPMs popularity to increase the best decision was to divert media attention to religion. The other reason is DMK wants to increase cargo traffic to eastern ports of Tamil Nadu which has investments in vicinity by Kalanidhi family. Religion is a great tool to fool the people of India. Behind closed doors Advani has met Karunanidhi. Everything is eyewash. The best way to divert attention is create rift between hindus and muslims which people of india do as per the grand plans of ther masters- the politicians
