N Deal Facts

A lotts people here dont understand that the N Deal is actually not just abt India and the US, its actually abt India and the Rest of the world comin together, the deal is nt US specific bt opens the doors to 45 nations who supply nuclear technology. Obviously we are nt sellin ourselves to nations like Russia China France UK South Sfrica Brazil Sweden etc. The idea that the deal is just between the US and India is absolutely wrong. The US is facilitating the removal of nuclear sanctions against India. Frm where we buy uranium is upto us. About the Hyde Act, its a US domestic act whch binds only the US congress. India and the rest of the worlds got nuthn to do with that. Under Hyde Act the US can withdraw under certain circumstances whch the US feels is againt US interest. But as it is only a domestic act it does not apply to neother country. Its actually better that the US withdraws as that would allow us to buy more stuff frm Russia whch would be cheaper. The Hyde Act is God send and its implementation is a masterstroke frm our Foreign Ministry negotiators. Rememeber once India signs this deal its legally impossible to stop India frm buyinh uranium frm Russsia or ne other country even if the US is against it.

There are lots of misconceptions in your posting. First of all, The deal is nothing but US and India Specific. Please do not have any other view to this, even if it is not very Specific about it. Please go through Mr. Kakodkars assertion yesterday telling that "India should be Allowed to Import Reactors from other Countries". What do you mean by this?

Secondly, the Hyde Act was passed just to contain India and the same will definitely be applied against India. Not just this act, but there are some more coming that would be acted against India, if India wishes to go its own way.

Do you think the US will honour in letter and spirit all those what is written there in the 123 Deal. Yes she will do so, as long as it suits her. The moment she thinks any thing against her benefit, those are simply dumped. And no one can tell a word against this Super Cop.

Logic do not apply to the US. It has its own logic to go by.

Mr. Kakodkars assertion yesterday telling that "India should be Allowed to Import Reactors from other Countries". was meant for the commies. wot he meant was we should sign this deal so we can buy reactors frm other countries. The deal is not between the US and India. The Hyde Act contains only the US congress as its a domestic US law. India got nuthn to do with the HYDE ACt. I don care wether US honore the agreementn or no, bt we sure are nt gonna honor the agreement if suddenly its of no use to us and trust me nobody would dare do nethn abt it.

It is a genuine concern and is not for consumption of the Left Parties. Kakodkar is wise enough to tell something that may cost his job. Tell me as to whether we can go ahead and do not purchase reactors from the US. Hyde Act is a direction to the US Administration to do what and to do what not. And that governs the Deal, clearly. And there are several uneasiness in the Hyde Act. Had there been no connection, then why was it passed? It is India Specific as the 123 Deal is.

But I am interested that we should go ahad with the Deal. But there is a scope for a lot of improvements. And we should go for those, citing immense opposition from the Left. Otherwise also, we should should sign it.
