If the nuclear deal can generate only 20,000 MW power by 2020, then we do not need this deal. Why to put ourself in trouble by binding with USA for such smaller gain. It is a known fact that USA acts only on its own interest. They are selfish and do not care for VALUES. Let this deal be debated in Parliament. I am not against the friendship between USA and INDIA nor I favor communist. If there is something fishy in the treaty then why can't UPA government discuss and get things cleared?

Dear Mr.Ram I don't agree with your point.Unless You have long term objective and goal with vision our nation can't progress. If so the same communist have why they kept their mouth shut for Kodamgulam atomic power project tie-up with Russia.China is controlling population growth and what action these communist suggest for our nation.PWD Minister has reigned in Kerala for corruption.Let jothibasu let him declare his assets openly.communism may be good not the communist.Who talk about Jeeva ,A.K Gopalan who really practice communism. It is not the party it is the people and leaders who should take correct step for the growth of our nation.Highly qualified people should come to politic to save the nation. If I am wrong please correct me.

I agree fully with Ram.
I guess there should be debate on this treaty. When we talk about meeting targets for next 20-30 years then it is befitting that we had debate on this treaty. Though government can sign the treaty as per the constitution it is advisable for minority government to face the debate.
Debate can go on in parliament for let us say 7-8 days. But it very less time compared to what we see the far reaching implications of this treaty. Of late we have all the newspapers splashed with CPI and CPM view points all over but the main protagonist i.e. congress has not done good either to advance the cause of this treaty to masses. Some of the points raised by communists may be valid and we should debate/evaluate them. For example cost of nuclear energy, waste disposal, how much we can meet by nuclear energy etc. etc.
It would be nice if factual debate is organized and reasoning is held. All in this world are intelligent and unless equal or greater facts are not given to support the treaty I guess mass will go with communists. This is because they will be led to believe in these propaganda. This is not to undermine intellect of mass but there is saying that who shouts most is heard the most.
Where are those people who postulated this treaty? They should come forward and answer all queries raised by communists point by point. Unless that is done and is done nation wide I don't see the wider popularity of this treaty.
