After reading most of the comments ( a lot I agree with and a few seems absurd and out of context as usual ) I feel that it is wrong to compare any of our major cities as they have their own strength, beauty and ugliness. All were developed on different strengths, all have different cultures eventhough most of them are getting more cosmo , thanks to the huge floating and migrant population. Defenitely all cities are improving in terms of infrastructure, but the growth was so fast and indisciplined, some cities couldn't cope up and got bust up, but things will change and it may take time. But I am glad that every city has a heart and accepts everyone, gives space for every one, forget bad roads, salty water, hot and humid climate... there are plus points to cover up all these and advnatages which are not to be compared out of context. Those who cannot bear the bad side should better stick with our most beautiful villages. City life - we must learn to adjust and adopt. There is something for everyone .... Happy living..:-)

I want to add, after seeing a lot of flak poured on Chennai and Tamilians, that Chennai and alltogether Tamilnadu is a better place to live ( am not comparing with any other places ). Me hailing from Kerala and now settling in Chennai was able to understand this. Please do not take it bad if Chennaites speaks Tamil or English only ( because most of them does not know Hindi - but on the same breath one will be surprised to know that a lot of Chennaites speaks hindi and Chennai have a very big hindi speaking population ) , pls dont take it bad if Chennai is so hot , humid and have water scarcity ( one should not be blamed for geographical and climatic things which we cannot change ), pls do not take it bad if some part of Chennai is stinking ( measures are being taken to clean up the stink generating water bodies ), but I would request you to see the plus side as well. Chennai has the low cost of living, have nice roads, have fantastic beaches and a long beach side drive, have a fantastic entrepreneural spirit, and to me it is among the SAFEST cities to live. Lets LIVE AND LET LIVE. Cheers :-) Jai
