China, don't bite the hand that feeds you
by Kumar on Oct 19, 2007 01:32 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

The Chinese economy is based on cheap exports to US. China shouldn't be ungrateful to bite the hand that feeds it. If US stops the Chinese imports and insteads import goods from Latin America, Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan the Chinese economy will collaspe and they will be starving to death. The Chinese should know there limits and always be grateful to The Dalai Lama for his kindness and the USA for it's generousity. They should stop barking like dogs.

I don't think if US were to reduce (or even stop) the Chinese imports, it will be China who suffers more, rather it will be US. Much of the big corporations in US are heavily dependent on China's manufacturing. China in fact is one of few countries (if not the only one) which exports more to the US than it imports from US. This trade surplus is the reason US is always hesitant to take a hard stance against China.
That said, I agree that China should stop treating the Dalai Lama as a separatist.

It's very easy for the US corporations to move their manifacturing to any other country in the world or even to the US mid-west and South (where cost of manifacturing is lesss). US customers can easily affort to pay even twice the price they pay for the Chinese goods since the costs are rock bottom anyway. Who cares if you pay $4 or $8, it doesn't matter. China though will go backrupt if they are denied access to the US market. Dalai Lama is a great human being and only evil people and countries can hate a peacemaker.

If a US corporation wants to move manifacturing out of China, hundreds of countries will rush in with request to move the factories to their country instead of China, they will even offer free land, discounted infrastructure and tax sops. Thousands of unemployed and poor people across the world can do the jobs done by Chinese at an even lower price. Hundreds of countries are dying to attract foreign investement and factories to their own cities and town. Chinese are living in a dream land. China can never ever equal US. Great social upheavel awaits the supressors of human rights and freedom.
