This Doctor is taking $15,000 from foreigners and giving the mother a paltry $50/month, 9 x $50 = $450 $6,323 = $6,773. Are you kidding me? In US, a surrogate mother gets paid around $30,000-$40,000 (at the minimum) Food Lodging. This is exploitation. The Doctor is making money by exploiting these helpless poor and some middleclass American who is keen to find a cheap solution. How about TCS/Wipro/Infosys starting this as a side business? After all it's outsourcing.

You forget the Doctor also has to take out the cost of meds and the medical costs for the retrieval and implantation of the eggs and the costs of childbirth. By the way the doctor does not pay the $50 monthly allowance for the surrogate the couple looking for the baby does.

$6,773 - calculate and see how much it can mean for an average indian family. It is opportunistic - YES but no exploitation as no one is forcing them. I think it is a good option for both parties. i dont want to you to agree with me, but this is my thought
