This lady claims that there is a couple who wants a child and a woman who wants money. Why cant she see the hundreds of orphans who want parents? is it cos she cannot mint money there? either using surrogate mother or adopting, both ways, the parents get a ready made choice, then y not adopt rather than add to the ever increasing population. Another point i would like to stress is that being breast fed by the mother is the birthright every child born and that is deprived the minute the surrogate mother hands over the child to the so called biological parents. is this fair? this is injustice to the child for having commited no sin or crime. I think instead of debating whether the concept of surrogate mothers is ethical or not, we might as well try and promote adoption and gift a life worth living to an orphan.

absolutely correct!!!! this is nothing but the bania genes of the doctor coming into play.....the govt. should ban this and instead make adoption of orphans easier especially if special benefits were to be given for adoption of the girl child maybe even child infanticide will come down over a period of time....but surrogate motherhood as being done is nothing less than running a stud farm. This is indeed a dangerous practise. Wonder what the loud mouth Reuka Choudhry have to say about this ?

The fact that the couple wants a surrogate mother implies, probably, they have considered the option of adopting but they do not want to proceed. If they are aware that a child can be born this way, they cannot be ignorant about adoption.
Why they do not proceed for adoption is a personal choice, IMHO. It can be an emotional issue or a perception about genes. Every couple wants THEIR OWN CHILD. If that was NOT AN EMOTIONAL ISSUE, having known that there are thousands n thousands of children that can be adopted in our own country, we would not have been so populated nation and if not all, many many couples would have simply "adopted a readymade" child.

yeah supriya correct whatever u said is 100% right,there are plenty of orphans in our india who are expecting love & affection from anybody else atleast childless couple may come forward to adopt these childs,even those who have child can also adopt atleast one child ,sometime back my friend celebrated his child birthday in a orphan home in chennai ,when his family members entered the hall all the kids from the orphan home hugged them & kissed my friend & his wife ,when he narrated this 2 me,then i thought how much love & affection these little kids are expecting ...so our govt or NGO's must create awarness campaign among our indian society on adoption sytems rules & regulations of the policy. nandakumar chennai

Whether one adopts or goes the surrogate route is a personal choice, that one should learn to respect.
And when it comes to adoption, why only childless couple should adopt? Why can't couples with child adopt? What are they doing to help a child?

I am so Happy after reading ur mesage, otherwise these days the messages put up for so many causes are all bullshit. It is high time that every one who want children shud adopt the orphans, and so called surrogate mothers concept shud be banned and shud be prosecuted if committed. Thanks Supriya for posting such a wonderful message, I wish and pray that ur message shud be a eye opener to all those couples who plan for surrogate mothers.!!!PLS PLS PLS adopt orphans...and give them the best things what they lost without doing any sin.
