We spend a lot of time in temples/masjids and talk as if we are the best. No prayers can change your destiny until and unless U are willing to change yourself(exception is luck).If pray would have changed our fate, India and Pakistan would be #1 in the world. Don't waste your time spending in Temple for pooja and praying is church or masjid. This will not bring any success to U. The religion spoils our country(like Gujarat riot,Bombay riot,bombay bomb blast). Why Gujarat has become a communally senstive, it is just because of religion and people without brains. Educate them. Don't get killed in fake encounters. Raise your voice for justice.Think with your brain and not with your heart/emotions. Go India Go.

Well said! Religion is indeed problematic. More so are 'religions' such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism. Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Taoism, Confucianism etc are more of a 'lifestyle'. A few fanatics have redefined these 'Lifestyles' into more fundamental practices over centuries and have modified their objectives. So there is no difference between fanatics of each religion, be it the Taliban or VHP/RSS. Once you establish a religion and there are followers, there is a race to get control of that mass following. This is the root cause of the current state of society. On the other hand, the ideal, classless society is a far fetched idea, which will need a huge amount of mind deviation within the public for it to succeed. All in all, religion is THE root cause of all the problems.

Please dont compare the noble RSS with dirtbags like Taliban. RSS is the largest voluntary organization in the world. Taliban is a regressive anti-idlatory terrorist mentality. You cannot compare apples with oranges.

Both Apples and oranges are fruits. And in this case, the ideology of both the fruits (Taliban and RSS/VHP) are more or less based on religious supremacy, one nation one religion theory. Which will not find grounds in India at least. In the changing world scenario of Globalisation, the boundaries are becoming blurred. So this theory will never find any place elsewhere either. As far as Voluntary nature of RSS goes, it is admirable, though the objective and intentions of them doing that is questionable.

Well did you ever go to a RSS meeting first?I am saying this because Half knowledge is always dangerous. I am not a adherent of RSS either.RSS was formed during the Chinese invasion and it served as a platform to unite all INDIANs against an adversary.The objective should not be questionable i guess.Well for Humanity sake donot compare RSS to Talibaan .No oraganisation is comparable to the Barbarous Taliban.
All i would like to say is religion is like a paperweight which prevents the papers(people)from flying when there is wind(Sin).As long as it is maintained as a paper weight and not a projectile(to be thrown at others)its fine.I think the Discussion Board can be used for much more useful purposes than accusation and counter accusations.

I agree with Ashutosh. RSS and Taliban have more or less the same agenda. Religious supremacy and intolerance for others, spreading hatred etc. USA took care of Taliban and crushed its ugly head, who is gonna take care of RSS/VHP ???

Mike, US did nothing.. ok !! taliban is still there.. They did to that extent, which they wanted (Start civil war in Afganisthan, pakistan) so dont gloat about it. Rgding RSS and VHP, how many news of blast etc.. u have heard in last 1 week ? none.. go and check 1 week's all explosion etc.. all were muslims...
