Sorry Plight...
by Rangasamy Vijay on Mar 09, 2007 11:20 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

The author has rightfully picturized Indian in-action. The sorry plight of Indian government stems from the following
1.India is scared to project its image as a majority hindu state. You need not term India as a Hindu state but alteast project an image that its policies are driven by a majority community. In the absence of it, other nations are naturally tempted to test our will. Any other free democratic countries in the world are not shy to project their religion.
2.The government/leaders of the national parties must be adequately represented by the major community.
3. We do not need to build a Rama Temple in Ayodya. But we must send a strong signal to all other indian communities that we are a majority community but willing to coexist with other communities peacefully. Do not call it secularisim- secularism means only submission.
4.Single party majority rule absent for some time now. Important policy decisions are lacking proper insight- sometimes driven by vested interests/atheists like regional parties/comic commies.
5. In Indian history all the famous rulers in the past always projected themselves as a leader of majority community and yet at the same time never suppressed other comminunities. Thanks to congress- it wiped out our will power and made the country meak and submissible.
India needs it major community to surface and set right all those ills seen so far.

Dear Shri Rangaswamy,
I am a peace-loving Indian inasmuch as showing utmost tolerance to my christian, muslim and sikh neighbours to coexist with me. My magnanimity towards other communities in enabling them practise their faith with full freedom does not mean that I am meek, submissive and that I want to play to the galleries - which is what the great national party of India - the Congress - has successfully achieved in 60 years. Today, in a majority hindu nation, I have to think 10 times before declaring my faith uninhibitedly. What a shame! I fully endorse your thoughts and let all Hindus shun their pseudo-secularistic credentials and declare boldly what they mean to profess. If this honorable attitude is portrayed as "fundamentalist-streak", it is a pity. But, I am sure this is what all non-hindu brethren will try to project. Hypocrites, many of us are, we have no shame in subjugating ourselves before other faiths when we live in alien lands and we also applaud other nationals for their courage to practise their faith openly!

Are we really subjucating yourselves to other faiths when we live in other lands? What a LIE ! Ask our brothers and sisters living in USA and the western countries, how freely they practice our hindu faith and you will know. It is good to be true to ones religion but this is a little too much !!

Thanks for your views. Calling ourselves "Secular" we are trying to talk reasons with fanatically religious states. What a strange approach to national issues!! We must talk from a point of strength - our majority religion with a rich heritage & tradition. I hope next time a hindu leaning party like BJP is voted to power with a clear majority. Then only congress & other parties will learn how to conduct our external affairs.
