India's 1-2 children policy and Laws of Probability
by Senthil Kumar on Mar 15, 2007 10:43 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

In the previous generations parents on average
had 7-8 children if not more.

The probability of at least one of those 8
children showing love towards parents was high
at old age in comparison to a modern family.

with 1-2 children, and with girl children
moving out, laws of probability sure doesn't
seem to be in favor of old parents.

I agree with you, also in old ages, marriage was done very early for the wife to realise any difference. But now the lady earns and wants the same treatment, food etc in the house. If you live in a house where sons get however much they want to eat and left overs - very little for the wife - should the wife continue this absue?
