Rushdie is not from Kashmir, neither has he written anything on kashmir. . The UK has nothing to do with kashmir. So, what does the kashmiri citizen want here? Do they want India (or if they consider themselves a part of papistan, papistan) to ask UK to revoke the knighthood? . This is plain silly. The govt should crush the strike violently, if required. . The only strand linking the events is islam, which muslims do not want to edit or even discuss.

Dear friend, we muslims are very afraid of Allah whom we have never seen through eyes and whom we believe in. When ever our beliefs have been hurt it has proved fatal for the other. History has proved it. About Islam, it is an occean of peace , forgiveness and divine connection with Allah, the God.If you practise Islam for 40 days, and if your mind did'nt changed about Islam , I will leave my religion.

These statements are mostly appeals for faith and inaccurate. I personally don't want to be "afraid" of my god. As for Islam being peaceful, ground realities are starkly different. Islamic fundamentalism is the biggest problem on earth now for everybody (including muslims). The middle eastern islamic nation belt keep fighting with each other at the slightest pretext (Iraq-Iran, Iraq-Kuwait, you name them, they have a problem. What islamic peace are we talking about? As for practising 40 days and changing my mind about Islam, according to quran, if I come out of Islam (apostasy), according to the sharia, I have to be killed. Enough said, muslims don't even have the freedom to criticise their religion (for fear of death);this negates their praise of islam because they just cannot afford not to praise. Numerous muslims who convert out of it, keep a low profile, to escape death by apostacy in the western world.
