Learn from West Bengal
by Anil Gonsalves on Jun 03, 2007 11:04 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Such agitiations happen everywhere other than in WB. Why? Rajashtan is unaware that WB has shown the way forward. Indeed for India as a whole, West Bengal must be the model to emulate. Actually, the number one Indian state is not TN, Mah, or Gujarat. It is WB. Under the secular and tolerant rule of the CPM, Bengal has become a powerhouse in all sectors of the economy. Unlike Gujarat and Maharashtra, Bengal is peaceful, progressive and democratic. There are no riots and law and order is excellent. The Bengali people are solidly behind the CPM. They know the truth: without the CPM, there can be no Bengal. I shudder to think what would have happened to WB if there was no CPM. The state would have been at the same level as Guj or TN. The CPM has saved Bengal from that fate and is indeed the only party which can deliver. It is a reflection of the political maturity of the Bengali people that such Gujjar like agitations do not happen in Bengal. Because Bengal is no.1 in India in each and every scientific, technical, cultural, literary, economic and artistic field. India without Bengal is like America without California. Without Bengal, India is doomed. Without the CPM, Bengal is doomed. Hence, if you want a better India follow Bengal.

Thakur Sab,

Aap kis zamaney ki baat kar rahey hain? Aisa hota tha. Ab nahain hain. Aapko pata haina ki Wipro aur IBM ney WB mein office khola hua hain. There are talks going on with Bene Sentosa of Indonesia to develop huge real estate and chemical hub, etc. Real estate prices are hitting the roof. What you said used to be true once upon a time under the rule of Senile Jyoti Basu, but things have taken a 365 degree turn once Buddhadeb became the CM. As far as fights in the religious or caste line, it is non-existent in Bengal unlike some of the states in India.

Dear bengal lovers

Still it is far behind progrssive states like Maharashtra/Gujrat/Tamilndau/Karnataka/AP etc in terms of Indusries/Job opportunities/education/sports etc.
It is just marginally better than BIMARU states.

Dear Anil, your message is far from truth. Nandigram is also part of WB. The goons in WB and neighboring states will welcome foreign nationals to settle down in India, which the Supreme Court term as aggression. India is such joke for its nationals and those surrounding it!

Hey Anil: good that you brought up this West Bengal Issue here.

Do you you know Mandal (OBC) reservation was NOT implemented iN West Bengal?

CPIM don't play caste politics in West Bengal. But CPIM plays caste politics in Rest of India.

Caste consciousness in West Bengal is less. ITS NOT BECAUSE OF CPIM, BUT BECAUSE OF SRI CHAITANYADEV, THE HINDU SOCIAL REFORMER WHO SAVED HINUDISM IN EASTERN INDIA.

Bengal shows Nandigram to the rest of the country.

It is a matter of shame that the Bengali politicians and policemen who set out to steal land from innocent villagers and perpetrated another Janiawallah Bagh in India are not only roaming Free but also happen to rule the state of Bengal.
The less said about Bengal - the better it is.
It is bunch of thugs and murderers who rule in the name of the people.
Hardly the India that we would like to be proud of.
Use your brains my good Mr. Anil, before you prout marxist philosophy.

i am not a leftie.
but i tell u that;
left parties do not have dynasty politics.
like karunanidhiji of soniaji etc.
also they do not foment caste wars in bengal.
may be they are stalinist, but then they are one.
political awaremess is high in west bengal, thanx to cpm edcation of people.
the left can change with the times, witness their emphasis on development now.
also do treat this as a comedy, go and see, the state of bengal today.
also it is the only state, where OBC DONT EXIST,
INFACT RESERVATION IS ONLY FOR SC/ST IE 20% OR SO.
REST ARE OPEN CATEGORY SEATS.
A DAY WILL COME WHEN THE COMMUNISTS WILL RULE INDIA, LIKE NEPAL.
ALTERNATIVE IS DISINTEGRATION.
