Learn from West Bengal
by Anil Gonsalves on Jun 03, 2007 11:04 AM

Such agitiations happen everywhere other than in WB. Why? Rajashtan is unaware that WB has shown the way forward. Indeed for India as a whole, West Bengal must be the model to emulate. Actually, the number one Indian state is not TN, Mah, or Gujarat. It is WB. Under the secular and tolerant rule of the CPM, Bengal has become a powerhouse in all sectors of the economy. Unlike Gujarat and Maharashtra, Bengal is peaceful, progressive and democratic. There are no riots and law and order is excellent. The Bengali people are solidly behind the CPM. They know the truth: without the CPM, there can be no Bengal. I shudder to think what would have happened to WB if there was no CPM. The state would have been at the same level as Guj or TN. The CPM has saved Bengal from that fate and is indeed the only party which can deliver. It is a reflection of the political maturity of the Bengali people that such Gujjar like agitations do not happen in Bengal. Because Bengal is no.1 in India in each and every scientific, technical, cultural, literary, economic and artistic field. India without Bengal is like America without California. Without Bengal, India is doomed. Without the CPM, Bengal is doomed. Hence, if you want a better India follow Bengal.
