Through your message board I would like to appeal to our key scientists involved in the negotiations with the Americans. I would like them not allow their bureaucratic colleagues to play with words and try to bamboozle them. They must keep thair heads clear, with intention of protecting the interests of India at all cost. Under no circumstances should they falter even for a wink against the wily Americans. If you have even the slightest suspicion or doubt on the intent and the resultant wordings in the deal, keep straight and walk firmly out. VETO it with all the force and rightful contempt that it deserves. You have worked real hard with total dedication to achieve leadership in nuke technology and broken astounding grounds in uncharted territories of fundamental and applied nuclear science and technology. You have everything at stakes to safeguard this humungous knowledge-base and pass it on safely to the future generations who will take over from you. In India's nuke research history you have at this moment one of the most critical role to play. I am sure all of you will walk tall with great moral conviction not to even for a fleeting moment betray the nation at this ominous period in its history. THE WHOLE NATION IS WATCHING YOU WITH GREAT EXPECTATIONS AND TOTAL BELIEF IN YOUR UNSTINTING PATRIOTIC RESOLVE. WE KNOW YOU WILL NEVER BEND AND COMPROMISE OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS. I request the Rediff management to reach this message to Sri Anil Kakodkar and his colleagues.

Inkipinky, it is clear you know almost nothing about India's civil nuke capabilities. That becomes apparent when you say that all Indian reactors are from USA or Russia, etc. Having been a very close observer of India's nuke development I assure you that you have all wrong notions on the subject. Nuke technology cannot be show-cased like the launch of a spaceship. But lack of fireworks does not mean that nothing is happening. For knowing that you need to understand technology and its intricacies. And understanding nuke technology does need effort.
