In a land, tarnished in recent memory by Babri Masjid, Godhra, Bombay '92....it is difficcult to understand what 'Rediff' is trying to do by publishing such articles.
To the historians, I would say that if the greatest truth in history is capable of taking a single life in present, then it is not worth knowing.
Why don't we concentrate more on Ashoka or Akbar, than an Aurangazeb. After all, ''what you believe is what you want to believe''....it is not necesarily the fact.
Every public media has a social responsibility and I would like to wish that 'Rediff' will have second thoughts before bublishing articles that are not really fit for our times.

Dear Marian and Vishal,
Any loss of life, in the name of religion is condemnable and I strongly support your view that the demolishion of Hindu cottages in Khazakistan should be condemned in the strongest possible words. At the same time I can not support Marian's view that the proportion of Islamic population in a country is the cause for trouble.
I don't call myself a Secular Indian...to condemn violance you don't need to be Secular, it is enough if you are an Indian :)
To close, I would state that there are several incidences of violance accross the world, in the name of religion...what do we get by adding fuel to that fire. Before pointing a finger at some other religion, let us ask ourselves - whether we are true to our own religion...does our own religion promote hatred or are we promoting it out of our own emotions. Where is the end to this 'eye for an eye...' syndrome. Let us behave in a more matured way. In a riot or war - there are sorrows on both sides, their are virtues on either.....no war has been fought in this world where one has won over the other...both have gone home with their wounds. We can only endeavour to keep ourselves safe.

Because of ignorant Hindus like you,the psedosecular political leaders are causing immense injustice to Hindus by taking divisive and religion & caste based decisions. History has its importance. I am surprised as when true picture is emerging about the monstrous Muslim rulers who have trampled Hindus, raped their women and destroyed their temples,Will you not take any lesson from the true History as a true follower of Hinduism?
