building relations is always good..keep doing it...but in mean time discover and develope our own gas and oil fields..rest whole world is investing in reseach of new form enery ...so best for india in long run is to invest heavily on reseach on new enegy methods,rest india should also invest in some unconventional energy forms like wind energy,solar energy,hydro...which can alteast cover domestic need and save the rest of the forms for industrial and other heavy consumers. Thar desert give a large area for solar cell instaltion and costal lines and mountains gives good position for wind mills...

manish but dont you think that the reserves india has got hidden is a national treasure if we dont tap that then dont you think we are losing out on our own treasure, yes solar is a good idea but do you think it will be sufficient to provide energy for 1.2billion people and would you like to see a wind mill just in every nook and corner wouldnt that be a bit disturbing for the eyes we already lack good infrastructure in our main cities and an addition of this wouldnt that be a bit too much, I dont see renewables delivering the quantum of energy for our needs but a percentage which will reduce a little bit of pressure on oil imports dont get me wrong i am against renewables but i dont see it as a real solution thats all
