no battles here!!!
by illusion of me on Feb 07, 2007 12:18 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

its surprising how our tamil, telugu and other north indian brothers have vanished when the reality comes out to light. Yesterday there were 100 pages of debates as to how justice has been done, and the case can rest in peace!! Where are the ones who commented? chickened away. unable to face the truth?!?!

an honest man has nothing to fear!

Great argument... One misguided person supporting Karnataka's claim does not mean it is the truth...
By the way, could you tell me from where does ground water come?

For argument's sake, lets assume that we use "the underutilized" ground water in T.N. Lets say that next year Karnataka takes all the water in Cauvary. And T.N uses the ground water next year.

What will T.N do for year after next year? It is precisely for this reason that Commission was setup and they awarded the water according to the feedback from experts who actually seen the ground realities in both side of the border.

Major contributor for ground water is not rivers. Tamil Nadu has been sitting on ground water and making demands for more water from Karnataka.
It is like someone who owns a lot of jewels aplying for a poverty-ration-card because they dont have enough money for food.

Dude, I am not questioning the credentials of the author. Its just he might be misinformed.

We can not share water since we don't have enough is not a correct argument since this assumes Karnataka as a whole is entitled to water in kaveri.
The state boundaries are drawn few years back (~50 years) but kaveri basin existed for millions of years.
The water, however small it may be, should be shared based on the length of the river in both states. You can not divert water, entitled to people from lower part of river, to drought areas in other parts of your state which was not served by kaveri before.
For example, take indus river. Can you divert all the water from Indus river to other drought hit areas like T.N, Karantaka, Rajastan in India instead of giving portion of it to Pakistan? No, you can not, both legally and morally.

Continuing your argument, Madras should not get water from Krishna. Madras is nowhere near the krishna basin.

I agree that Madras should not get water by cheating the people living in Krishna basin... If there is excess water then maybe madars should get it...
Got it?
