RE:We need to understand that we can compare an apple with an apple but we can not compare the apple with opium

Dear sir
secularism does in no way mean"every religion should have full freedom and every person should be free to do actions as per his religion" Please just look up dictionary! The above description is your perception and not truth!
Secular/secularism means of not religious/religion
This is a situation where the state does not take cognisance of the religious bent of the individuals to formulate laws that will be humane and will help most people. For example the sati practice was stopped by enacting laws is a secular approach.Good, but allowing the tip chopped fellas to marry 4 women at a time is NOT a secular idea. Please let us know how allowing polygamy is a secular act where as questioning this is a communal act? How a caste based reservation and religion based reservation is an honourable secular act where as questioning the very basis of this practice is communal?

1. Ahimsa and vegetarianism were preached by buddhism and jainism.
2. Buddhism has almost been eradicated from India, who do you think did it
3. Hindus still do a lot of animal sacrifices even today
4. I don't have to go into the stastics on how many dowry deaths occur in India, female infanticide ( rampant in hindu community ), widows can't remmary, sati's worshipped evn today......
There are ills in every religion. No religion is better than the other. So stop bullshitting...

Every religion need to improve. But Hindus have accepted that and modern Hinduism is getting rid of all that. I dont see widows being burnt alive any where. Widows do marry these days. Dowry death occurs in other religions also. That is the curse of the land and joint family system. But that is also changing. I agree there is Animal sacrifice. At least some groups of Hindus are vegetarians. Animal sacrifice is barbaric. No harm in eating meat as long as you treat the animals ethically. But Hinduism is having leaders now who are looking at the stars instead of gutter.
