Why do we hate each other?
by udayam enterprises on Aug 09, 2007 02:19 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

All religions have some sort of fanaticism, look at Christainity, the crusades were religious wars conducted to spread religion, Islam has conducted many wars to spread Islam, destroyed many temples. Even Hinduism has stopped Buddhism from spreading, we read about Ashoka the great having built many monastries, but where are they now. They were destroyed before 10th century by our own Hindus long before Muslim Invasion in the 11 th century. This is how history is hidden, we read about Christians and Muslims in our history books, but never about why Buddhism never survived in the land of it origin. Why it perished after Ashoka and Harshavardhana? Check out world history from any foreign source and you will know this to be true. Politicians and the government have always been manipulating us. The point I am making is this...

All religions are guilty of some misdeeds in the past. Why should we fight amongst ourselves now for what happened centuries ago. It is crazy.
Politicians, be it Congress, BJP or any other party don't give a damn, they just want
to rouse up peoples sentiments to get votes. When BJP was in power why didn't they build the temple at Ayodhya? Because they don't care. It is much better if we stop hating each other like this and work to the growth of our country.

Well said, it is true. It depends on which side you are standing and how history is taught.

I should make tomorrow a better one for myself and humankind...

Before History text books are printed it is reviewed by a committee. Some facts are hidden, some are published. No wonder we are taught (in a sublime way) to hate Christains and Muslims at school itself. If the truth was published we would be as guilty as them, no one would hate the other, and then politicians will have no ISSUES to cause unrest and get votes.

You are reading Indian history as presented by western and communist historians and getting a biased opinion. Please read what indian historians have said. It is a big subject to be trated lightly. Please don't make accusations you cannot substantiate.

Hi Purna, it is the same....

Most of the 'false' impressions are from so called orientalists from west and it is not limited to any religion or place.

The media is controlled by them, we end up believing CNN & BBC versions, we never question their truthfulness....

This applies to all. Freedom of speech is a sham. Human rights is another powerful weapon to fix countries and groups....

You are with us or not with us.... no options.

We need to find real freedom....

Miss Purna...Read this please...

Sunga persecutions (2nd%u0431st c.BCE)

The Sunga dynasty (185%u04373 BCE) was established in 185 BCE, about 50 years after Ashoka's death. After murdering King Brhadrata (last of the Mauryan rulers), military commander-in-chief Pusyamitra Sunga took the throne. An orthodox Brahmin, Sunga is known for his hostility and persecution towards the Buddhist faith. He is recorded as having "destroyed monasteries and killed Monks" (Divyavadana, pp. 429%u043434): 84,000 Buddhist stupas which had been built by Ashoka were destroyed (R. Thaper), and 100 gold coins were offered for the head of each Buddhist monk (Indian Historical Quarterly Vol. XXII, p. 81 ff cited in Hars.407). A large number of Buddhist monasteries (viharas) were converted to Hindu temples, in such places as Nalanda, Bodhgaya, Sarnath, or Mathura.

Thousand of hindus have been butchered, women folk abducted, millions converted to islam, thousands of temples razed to the ground, converted to mosques or mausoleums, what is the position of hinduism now? It has not vanished. Buddhism had spread to south india as well along with jainism. Jainism now survives, but not buddhism, why? You must read sri lankan history.

Romila Thaper's version of indian history will soon be forgotten with more non-left historians relooking into the wild guesses made by the western historians and indologists and their thaper-like disciples.

Udayam Enetrprises ...

Hope you are not running your company like you write (without any basis). You have so easily blamed Hindus for non-existent monastaries where as you don't notice Bamiyan Buddhas blasted away by your friends in Afganistan !!

Its not BJP which is the problem ... Its the Congress which is communalising the society deeply.

For every step of progress India makes, Congress adds 2 tea spoonfuls of communal concoctions and keeps the majority community on the edge. Thats gives rise to parties like BJP which did not exist earlier.

So, history should not only be valued & but also take care that you are reading the correct history !!

Arun,

You are a sympathiser. Atleast Hindu's left the violence way back but unfortunately the muslims are still doing what their rulers did to us. I did not read in any of my history books that most of the muslim rulers massacred millions of Hindu's if they did not convert nor did I read anything about the thousand's of temples they demolished or converted to mosques nor did I learn that they took most of the Hindu girls as concubines nor did I learn that they raped and murdered the hindu kings wife in front of him after a war and the list will go on. I guess the same commitee reviwed those you MORON. Let's stay away from History please. Tell your story to 2 yr old kid and he will beleive you.

Saths...You are missing the point, by having so much hate what do you think your children will learn..only to hate other people. You are talking about the past and hating the present generation? You sound like one of those crazy Islamic terrorist fanatics, who always blame and incite hate. Get a life you MORON. Learn to be a good Human Being. The elegance of Hinduism is getting lost because of Morons like you.
