I'm from tamilnadu and i'm of the firm opinion that DMK is TN's curse. They have been the most successfull party in dividing the state by the name of caste. Being a brahmin I should admit that, brahmins had their days and they did treat people indifferently for which they must pay the price. However the fact is that now, DMK other than anti-brahmin propaganda are now trying to create a new flare by dividing the state communally (based on religion) which in my opinion is the most dangerous thing to do. I feel very sad to see how the state looks. Great leaders like Kamaraj had a vision for the country and state. All those dreams have just been burnt. We now have leaders like karunanidhi, ramdass, stalin and so on. Leadership, I just can't see it in any of them. May be that's just me! I've heard a lot of people comment that TN has an aversion towards hindi. I seriously cannot argue against this, because certain incidents make it look very obvious. I'll try to put things in the right perspective. In my opinion every state in india has to comply to the national language, which does'nt mean that every person must know hindi. However considering the fact that tamil & sanskrit are the oldest languages in india, TN people have flair for tamil, the right to choose is still left to the individual. Trying to promote your native language in your own state, if this is wrong then God Forbid. When it comes to reservation, the current reservation policy of 69% is being used by the son's and daughter of millionares. This reservation is driving FC people to get fake certificates to show them as an OBC. This is not only in TN, this is the fate of our country.
I am surprised to see a Tamilan writing that he couldn't put things in the right perspective when it comes to our aversion towards Hindi. It has more to do with your inability and lack of knowledge and has nothing to do with the anti-Hindi movement in 1960s. When ever you are questioned about your aversion towards Hindi - your first question should be why should there be an attachment? Next is about the respect to our National Language. First you need to make them understand (you also should understand) that HINDI IS NOT NOT NOT our National Language. Hindi and English are just the Official Languages of our Central Government. I am sure 99.99999 percent of North Indians would reply that Hindi is our national language when u ask them what is our national language. Ask them to first read our constitution and then come to us. I have seen some cases where these people would question our patriotism just because we didn%u2019t learn the 'National Language'. In fact it should be us who shld be questioning their patriotism because they haven%u2019t read our constitution. Ask them to give you one good reason to learn Hindi. The same reason would surely hold good for them to learn Tamil or Telgu or Malayalam or Assamese. Linking the Single Language policy and Patriotism has nothing to do with our aversion to Hindi - but has a lot to do with their immaturity. We should feel proud of our ethnic and linguistic diversity.

I agree with you Vekatesh. This is really not important. We should not try to judge people by the colour of skin or language they speak so long they are willing to be good citizens of country.

The SC will tackle this tainted eye charracter while dealing with reservation issue next month against his govt for exceeding the limit of 50%.Don't be surprised if he roll back 69% on getting advese ruling to save his govt.

I dont think he would roll back fearing contempt of court. The vote-bank fear is more powerful than the fear for SC. More over not implementing SC rulings is not new to state governments in India. E.g. MullaiPeriyar Case, Cavery Water Dispute Case etc.
