Dr.Loganathan was an Alumni of PSG Tech. Coimbatore and was a senior to me. He hailed from Gobichettipalayam and His brother and I were collegemates. It is really a shocking news to me. I express my heartfelt condolenses to his bereved family.

Which was more shocking, his untimely death or his leaving India for good?. If he had just gone there for working sometime, and had planned to come back and make India better, many indians could have excused.. but not if he is a us citizen.

venkat, I am sorry for the prof. he is now no more, and I do not want to attach anything bad to him. I condole the death.
But an Indian born going to US and settling there is nothing to be proud of for people back home. We need them to contribute to upliftment of the society that helped them or provided them the opportunity to grow.

Oh yes!with the reservatins and other stuff going on in india....

I remember my classmate who completed degree two years later. With about 16to17 papers to be cleared at the time of the normal completion period this guy is a Lecturer at Anna University.I am sure he would have improved lot but he improved just because he had an opportunity (reservation) even after he was irregular to classes, bunking and in theaters when poor guys are there in class attending ....

BTB,it is not only the society which made anyone grow (except for the ones who used reservation quota). It is his own capability and force from inside which made him grow.I am sure more than 90% of people from india would have been in US /else where if they were given an opportunity.
In fact NRIS bring a lot of money to India.
