Wipro chairman Mr. Azim Premji's comment on reservation:
I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let's start the reservation with our Cricket Team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims, 10 percent for Christians, 30 percent for OBC , SC /ST, like that.Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by an OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century. We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player. Any delivery above this speed should be made illegal. Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters. There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country...) Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the country...) Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward... Lets show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country. Let's be proud of being an INDIAN...
May the good breed of politicians like ARJUN SINGH live long........
Kindly forward this mail to as many people as you can..............

If only we had reservation in our cricket team ,we would have won the world cup so many times. Time to give Sc,ST,BC folk a chance to play cricket & our brahmin friends can watch from the side lines .

If that is the message by Premji why do they request the government for subsidies & tax relief for the business they do.Why cant they purchase lands at the existinng rates instead of asking at bare minimun prices??Why do they need a reservation there!!!!

Dear Vijay, It is unfortunate that you have misunderstood Premji's comments and wrongly linked it with buying land at minimum prices. An investment by an IT or any other profy-making company returns much more to the country by way of taxes on the revenue earned, foriegn exchange inflow etc. the loss made by selling land at a reduced proce is quickly made up. As far as reservations go, nobody denies the need for uplifting the downtrodden. The problem is that all "reservations" are abused both by the politicians as well as the public with the result that those who really need it never get it. this is exactly what Premji means. Thanks, P.B.Mohan

so operations and aircraft by OBC will only be to politicians and ministers..good premji.. u have a good heart to save common people...i think u r indirectly trying to demolish the era of these politicians by getting them operated by an OBC so that operation is a sure failure

Dear Arun, Please develop the capability to articulate your points logically rather than use abbreviated invectives. Sorry to rub it in, but looking at your post, it looks like you have not really benefited from reservation. Would request rediff not to delete Arun's post. Thanks, P.B.Mohan
