I feel very proud about the song Vande Mataram. It is a salute to Mother India. It is ridiculous to treat it under the lights of religion. It is a pity that someone in India can give such statements and still come out of it. After 10 years, the same comment could come for the National Anthem also. Then, shall we discontinue National Anthem also? Saluting India must be everyone's duty as a Indian. We may be Hindus, Muslims, Christians or whoever. But we should feel that we are Indians first. I feel that singing Vande Mataram should be made mandatory. Why one should hesitate to salue our motherland?

I really dotn understand why we r digging grave. how does it going to make diff if objective of original song was something else or whatsoever. Is not this fact is enough that this is our national anthem and represent us whole as indian in current context. Why to bother abt origin. vande manteram is our national geet and every person should sing who considered himself indian. if u dont want to sing you can have millions execuses. Nothing is beautiful from every point of view. Tomorrow the same people may have objection to our national flag and will give some more excuse for not respecting it. Flag and song give us identity that we belong to republic of india. those who dont want to asoociate them self with this identity have their own execuses. They must be thrown ou of country.

Hi, If Tagore was requested to praise British King gainst his will, then who is to blame. Must be Motilal Nehru. Surely. why he should have requested Tagore to write a song in praise of the British King ? This man was just for power in those days itself. He joined freedom movement at a later stage and became the prime minister of india leaving behind all the one really started freedom movement. Curse Nehru for the today's status of India

Hey man, u can't even sing a song for your country then forget about dying for Hindustaan...... and Yes, please not that, there is no such issue which was ever raised by any Hindu saying that this or that is not in our dharma so we can not do that. It is always muslims raising voice for each n every thing saying this is not iin their religion....
R u really an Indian........ or just a Muslim??? Decide it man........ If you are an Indian you won't find anything against your religion and if not, Can't help u!!!!

Mr Kamal,
One the biggest mistakes we have made is that we have forgotten our rich past. And along with the beautiful language called Sanskrit. Just because nobody teaches Sanskrit these days doesnt mean its a nonsense language. Since the language has always been associated with Hindu religion our polititians for minority appeasement chose to ignore the language. How sad. We get time to promote urdu and arabi but forgot Sanskrit.

How is "Sare Jahanse achcha" inplace of "Vande Mataram". At the moment, "Jana gana mana" is our national anthem not vande mataram or sare jahan se achcha. If you do not want sing "Jana gana mana" then leave India and go to Nepal or pakistan.

Dear Mr kamaal.
No religion can be greater than your mother or mother land. You say Islam doesn't permit to sing Vande Mataram. But Islam never teach you work illegal or to take liquor How many Muslims follow the rules Islam in real life when u cant follow the rules of Islam in real life than why cant you sing Vande Mataram for your mother land?
