Vande Mataram is a salute to Mother India
by Shyam Kishore on Aug 24, 2006 01:41 PM

I feel very proud about the song Vande Mataram. It is a salute to Mother India. It is ridiculous to treat it under the lights of religion. It is a pity that someone in India can give such statements and still come out of it. After 10 years, the same comment could come for the National Anthem also. Then, shall we discontinue National Anthem also? Saluting India must be everyone's duty as a Indian. We may be Hindus, Muslims, Christians or whoever. But we should feel that we are Indians first. I feel that singing Vande Mataram should be made mandatory. Why one should hesitate to salue our motherland?
