NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
by Hanif Mohammed on Sep 29, 2005 12:26 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I am keeping religion apart. The services rendered by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is indeed noble, and deserve all the praise in the world. Going by the statistics provided by the Author, that this great man conducted some 75000 village courses, it would take 205 years with one course a day, 102 years with two, 51 years with four a day, from his birth - some statistics !! I hope the other facts are not concocted.

Hanif,

please read the article carefully before showing yr ignorance and mathematical skills?...the paragraph in question is as follows "Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's soldiers of peace have adopted 25,300 Indian villages in 25 states, trained 25,710 village youth in youth leadership training programme and conducted over 75,000 villages courses benefiting more than 2.3 million people."...which means that Guruji personally has not conducted each an every course..hope yr fears about concocted facts is cleared now??

Dear Hanif,
it is not necessary for every course to be conducted by sri sri himselves. His followers also conduct the course.I have heard a lot about them. Please try to read any chapter from book written by him i am sure you will feel the difference.
I have not attended any of his course but i am 100% confident of attaining peace

Yes... you are very correct in your perspective. But you should also know, Art of living is a very big family with lots of teachers and volunteers. At present Sri Sri Ravishankarji is not taking the classes. He has thousands of trained volunteers who are doing this for him. His team is getting big and big each day. So while you start write something, first understand what this organisation is doing and I would appreciate, if you could take up a course.

Hi friend,

All those courses were not taught directly by Sri Sri. His disciples teach the courses. he is the guiding person.

Yes Sri Sri is doing tremendous service towards the promotion of universal love.

Pray don't misinterpret. It is stated clearly that it is not Sri Sri Ravi Shanker, but his SOLDIERS OF PEACE conducted over 75000 courses. This is not a concoction.

Give him a Corporate Business prize
by Cogito_ergo... on Sep 30, 2005 10:54 AM   Permalink
Thank you, Hanif jee, for boldly speaking out THE TRUTH.
I belong to the same religion as Sri Sri Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Therefore, my views are not coloured by my religious beliefs. Even my mother-tongue is the same as his.
The fact of the matter is that SSRS is just another of those "gurus", running trans-national or multinational corporate businesses, pretending to give "spiritual" guidance to the whole world. There are many in the same business, like Mata Amritanandamayi, "Maharshi" Mahesh Yogi, "Bhagawan" Satya Sai Baba, and a horde of lesser known ones like S N Goenka ("vipassana"). A "Christian" example is Benny Hinn, who was treated like a Head of State when he came to India last year. He makes $100 million a year globally, Rs.150-200 million from India alone. The objective is to MAKE MONEY and GAIN POWER. The philanthropic and charitable actions are actually PR exercises meant for promoting their real business.
Why not give Nobel peace prize to Bill Gates and Melinda Gates? They deserve it, because they have been giving away billions of $$$$ when they don't need to.
Wake up, my countrymen, don't be such suckers.

Hey Hanif,

Please read the article carefully. The author clearly says that Sri Sri's soldiers of peace have adopted and done the work in 75,000 villages. It is surprising how you can ignore the big picture and find such a miniscule point to nit pick on.

Hanif, You have a quick mind, woow, am amazed at all the calculations you have made. :) 75000 /365 = 205 years .. brilliant.. but what you missed is the fact that Gautier says its Sri Ravi Shankar's "soldiers of peace" ( Means his disciples :) FYI ) have conducted all those courses and achieved other things. So I safely assume that there are about 100 disciples of his conducting these courses concurrently. Now what are the numbers again 75000 / 365 / 100 = 2 years. Does that seem reasonable ?

Dear Mr. Hanif Mohammed,
I would like to let you know that the art of living courses are conducted by 100s of teachers apart from sri sri ravi shankar. Some times teachers handle more than 1 group per day. considering that art of living has been around for 25 years, it is very very possible that the stats are correct. I guess i told you something which you did not know earlier.
thanks!

Mr.Hanif Mohammad is good in simple arithmetic. Sri Sri Guruji, has been training trainers for his Art of Living course and Sudharshana Kriya, thousands of volunteers, for about 25 years. The process of selection of volunteer-trainers is very tough. On any given day, thousands of his trainers are conducting the Art of Living courses across the globe. I underwent this training under one of his able trainers about 20 years ago. RPG
