Let us not mix up issues. Here we are discussing whether forest land in India including Kashmir can bought for any purpose religious ,commercial or otherwise and the final answer is a resounding NO. However it can be utilized for any of these purposes if due care is taken to preserve the environment & sanctity of the place . Changing the ownership of the forest land doesnt make sense which in any case is a national treasure and belongs to all humankind.I as a citizen of this country will not allow a national treasure to be destroyed whatever may be the reason. The issues of non-resident Jammu & kashmir residents buying land in Jammu & Kashmir is enshrined in the Constitution and is open to debate. However please note that buying land in kashmir is not limited to kashmiri muslims only but is open to kashmiri pundits and Hindus of jammu region also. i dont think any kashmiri pundit has ever been in favor of opening up land ownership to non- kashmiri state subjects and to me kashmiri Pundits are more possessive about their kashmiri identity than even the muslims of Kashmir..My argument is in favor of not creating a communal case out of a legal and environmental issue .

Cut the Kashmiri crap. This region belongs to India. If you don't like that, feel free to leave for Pakistan. Kashmir is an integral part of India. If you can't agree to that, Pakistan invaded Kashmir is waiting for you.

I dont think this issue should be communalised. Why dont we understand that forest land cannot be "bought" anywhere in India and any permanent structures over forest land causes immense damage to flora and fauna of the area. The idea should be improve facilities for the pilgrims without the need to insist on buying the land and create unnecessary bad-blood. The money being spent on buying the land can be utilized in improving the facilities for the pilgrims and protecting the environment of the area. After all Pahalgam the area in question is one of the most beautiful spots on earth and it belongs to all humanity and it is our duty to preserve it as a tourist and spiritual center..

Mr. Falcon, Forest land cannot be bought anywhere in India, that is what u say.Yes agreed, but we can buy urban land anywhere in India. Can an Indian do that in Jammu and Kashmir? It is too much that Kashmir gets all the benefits from the country but does not want to follow the country's rules and do the duty towards the country. Indians must atleast now wake up and do something which the mislead Kashmiris will understand.
