Let us not mix up issues. Here we are discussing whether forest land in India including Kashmir can bought for any purpose religious ,commercial or otherwise and the final answer is a resounding NO. However it can be utilized for any of these purposes if due care is taken to preserve the environment & sanctity of the place . Changing the ownership of the forest land doesnt make sense which in any case is a national treasure and belongs to all humankind.I as a citizen of this country will not allow a national treasure to be destroyed whatever may be the reason.
The issues of non-resident Jammu & kashmir residents buying land in Jammu & Kashmir is enshrined in the Constitution and is open to debate. However please note that buying land in kashmir is not limited to kashmiri muslims only but is open to kashmiri pundits and Hindus of jammu region also. i dont think any kashmiri pundit has ever been in favor of opening up land ownership to non- kashmiri state subjects and to me kashmiri Pundits are more possessive about their kashmiri identity than even the muslims of Kashmir..My argument is in favor of not creating a communal case out of a legal and environmental issue .
