Goldent, there is no doubt that christianity has done a lot of harm. But there is no doubt either that muslim invaders by their own accounts tried to convert by force and the Sikh gurus are just one example. The reason that it was not worse than what it is (30-40% of the total population if you look at unpartitioned India or even by combining BAngla/Pak?iNdia now) is becasue India was too large and the invaders were not as much in number as could have assaulted the entire Hindu population. Moreoever at some point they got tired of it or were distracted by power, or were thwarted by the more secular and tolerant such as Akbar. But conversions were going on throughout and the Hindus were kept at bay as second class citizens who had value enough not to be wiped out.
Even now, I have heard numerous accounts of how muslims are advised in mosques in bengal and elsewhere (even in some British mosques) to marry Hindu girls and to convert them. It is not the sword anymore but it goes on in other ways.
The important thing right now is not to deny it but to accept history, to distance oneself from the invaders (not embrace them as many muslims do) and to bond with the Hindus as equals and as brothers and as Indians with a great joint destiny.

hi golden... you say non muslims from india prospered only because they work in arab countries.. mist of the indians that work in arab countries are muslims from kerala mostly.. my cousin who obviously is a hindu was working as a doctor in saudi arabia for couple of years.. he used to tell me the torture.. hindus cant worship their gods even in their home...
99.9% of muslims that live in india think india is not their homeland and they want to create a seperate homeland for them..
when we were kids and used to watch cricket matches between india an paks, all the musim guys used to support pakistan. never understood why at that age...
every year lakhs of muslims are sent to haj from india for free... still they dont like our country. they do acts of terrorism like mumbai bombing, IISC attacks, Godhra attacks, Bombay riots, Akshardem Temple attack, attack on ram temple in ayodhya, coimbatore attacks, attacks on the vinayaka idol procession everyear
country getting ruined and ruined by you morons... get out of the country.. go to pakistan, bangladesh or somewhere in the middle east and live with people that are muslims and die because of shia-sunni clashes..

No they didnt hv the power of converting you idiot...Muslims lived under Christians all over the world form Libya to Indonesia, they should ahve forced you to convert like they did in Spain and we wouldnt hv terrorists now.

Have you been to Egypt? I have. I have also followed information about how poorly off the Coptics are. They are not only scorned but also attacked and have lived in fear over the centuries. But also, as Islam becomes older and purer in these lands it become more intolerant. When Egypt was being converted, they still retained some paganism and so the coptics fell through that crack and survived. Many of them want to migrate to the West. There is a terrible fear that grips non-muslims in muslim lands of persecution and death. It is not about discrimination that Indian muslims sometimes might feel but much much worse.
Look what the Arab janjaweed is doing to the dark-skinned Africans in Sudan/Darfur. See what the Sunni extemists are doing to christians in Iraq - many have been killed or attacked or frightened away.
India faced all this a few hundred years ago and Hindus were carriesdaway as slaves over the Hindu kush - how do you think that name came about?

But look at how intolerant Malaysia is to the Hindus. Hindus are not allowed to even bury their dead as Hindus sometimes. We talk about Babri masjid. A hundred Hindus temples have been razed in MAlaysia in the last 5 years or so all in the name of public need. In kolkata they have been trying to move (not raze) one mosque away from the airport for the last few years and they have been unsuccessful. Intolerance is nothing new to Islam, unfortunately.

you have complete misinformation malaysia. i dont think you have ever been there. you talk to hate mongers and they give you false ideas.
i went there and saw the situation clearly. hidus are enjoying there even more than in india. they are prospering like anything. specially indian tamils are the fast growing community there. you are talking about temples destroyed, it never happpend, you are just imagining. you have so say something so you are saying it.. perhaps you dont know that the biggest statue of ayappa is not in any hindu country, it is in the very heart of malaysia, Kualalumpur.. i saw it by my own eyes...
burying hindu...humm you are talking about murthy perhaps.. yes he had accepted islam and there were proper witnesses about this. just because his wife was still hindu, it doesnt mean that he will be buried like a hindu tirual. he was muslim so he was buried as a muslim ritual. not body forced his wife to become a muslims. she still remained hindu..

This is probably not relevant to the topic, but why would Hindus leave India and want to build temples in a country like Malaysia, I would have thought that India is much more prosperous and much better to live
