Dont post sensless comments here....Rajnikanth can be hero only in tamil cinemas which only tamilians can eatch and others cannot....Ab's movies whole of india and world watches...
Rajni is a bacha in front of AB...
Rajni can compete with other south indians Kamal hasan, Chiranjeevi,mohan laal but not with AB..

And Big B is only big in hindi films, he is virtually unknown in South (including urdu-speaking areas like Hyd)! There are more people in north who appreciate Rajnikanth than Amitabh in South! Rajni is number1 in Tamil, #2 in Telugu. And put together Tamil Telugu is greater than Hindi. Simple facts my dear :-)

No one language can ever dominate film industry in India.Its virtually impossible for hindi industry to come to south just as south industry cannot go to north.Both cultures are different in lots of ways.Plus telugu and tamil industries are technically much better and also massive by any standards.They are not just any regional movie industry. There is more money in hyderabad than in hindi industry.Talent wise tamilians are unbeatable anywhere in the world.Hindi actors are good in looks.So its very diverse and each is good in its own way.

Abbas-I supportyour view.Beng in hyderabad where we get to see hindi,tamil,telugu movies.I must say some of most phenomenal movies are from telugu and tamil.Current aamirs 'ghazini' is also a remake of tamil movie.Music wise ar rehman is superior to others.Hindi movies will be there but I think tamil and telugu industries too huge with all the money and talent.

You might be thinking that....and be happy with that thinking....Just look from the outside....No bady watches ur tamil or telugu moviess..No bady even in north watch Rajni except tamilians..... first of all no one understands tamil how they will watch...why they will watch simple logic:-)that to rajni is funny joker cutting bullets....etc
Tamilins will say Rajni is big star, Telugu will say Chiranjeevi is big star, karnataka will say rajkumar is the biggest star, Kerala will say mohanlal is big star. These stars are only in perticular state..Not outside.
So Hindi is national language...every one watches hindi movies in whole country and all NRIS and other asian countries and all know Amitabh followed by SRK are big starts in the Indian cinemas....

This is your own assumption. Hindi even if declared official language, is hardly the only language for movie-goers. At least I am not ignorant as you otherwise I could say Hindi-movies are watched only in the Cow-belt area where leave alone theatres, there are not many tents to screen them in. I will not say that. So instead of pouring your blind-anti-south feelings, accept the fact: 3 major industries for movie: Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. (this is as per cold statistics- not blind emotional crap)

only film dustry in India is Hindi which is a national language in india and rest of them are after that.
U r from Andra...Dont even think telugu is a film industry...not even one proper star in telugu...Like this each and every state has its own industry....Bengali,marathi,punjabi,kannada,tamil.malayalam...etc.

my dear friend population and size do not make you better.The reason why people say rajini is phenomenal is because of his ability to defy the majority's view and beat the collections set by major stars not just hindi filmstars.Hindi film stars are still to beat Chiranjeevis records.People are not fools when they praise some one.Chiranjeevi and rajini are not regional-if some fools think so I feel sorry for them.

If u have anyclue of what rajinis movies gross (forget about sivaji)u will not talk this way.By the way tamil and telugu industries are not regional-you must be dreaming or clueless.Some international magazine will point this truth in harsh way and you will agreeing that hindi industry is also one of the other industries.

Rajni's movies have always been gross... no need to mention that. Talking about remakes, South Indian cinemas started the "copying" trend. Deewar, made in 1974-75, was "copied" into some South Indian language. The hugely popular role enacted by Amitabh Bachchan in the 1974 classic was played by Rajnikanth in the South Indian version. So, its not new that South Indian cinema borrows from Bollywood & vice versa.
