why, are you one of them?its not only about indians accepting the homosexuality, the entire world thinks its weird!!here in US they have protests and try to stop passing the same sex marriage laws. its all right to keep your same sex armorous feelings to yourself, when you voice it out is when its looked down upon. its okay to be gay but ppl wont like their kids to grow up with them having propagandas.

I have a question for you antara. if people start showing acceptance towards gay people, give me one reason why they will not start propagating it? look at the situation right now ... what not are these gay people doing to make this thing legal. how do you expect it not to propagate. and consider this ... what is the next generation going to learn as they grow up ... they are going to learn that being gay is normal and a gay couple is as normal and healthy as heterosexual couple. do u think this would be a right thing to do? by the way i am a bengali.

ummm hey one would think that if the entire world thinks that it is weird then there is something really wrong with it! moreover are u one of those non-scientific people who think that gay people are born that way?

i did read your comment and answered it too. you keep saying again and again that i should think before i speak. my suggestion to you is the same too. there are certain morals the world works on. these are sort of 'rules' of the world. a world without any rules, namely morals, would not exist. nature has created couple rules for us and we should abide by them. a society where children learn that a mother and father in a family can actually be people of the same sex, is not a good society to grow in. statistics say most of times gay people turn out to be that way because of the childhood they had AND how they grew up. a child growing up among two gay guys have more chance to turn out to be gay. where are we heading with this?

i know what u are saying. thats exactly what i meant about gays not being allowed to propagate so that children dont get screwed up.but then again we cant inhibit ppl's freedom. also there are lots of ppl with vices and if they choose to keep it to themselves, what are we to do about it? can you behead them for feeling something---isnt that ridiculous? yes, i agree that they should not be allowed to adopt or exhibit public affection but we cant help it if some ppl choose to be what they are. isnt it?

i totally agree with you on the fact that one cannot help if someone harbors homosexual feelings in their heart. but what we are talking about is social acceptance. with complete social acceptance there would be no stopping for them in terms of what they decide to do with their lives. one won't be able to stop them from adopting babies, or exhibiting public display of affection ... or doing anything they wish to do. that is where the problem starts. we are both on the same page with this topic; we both think that it is wrong but the only difference in between us is that you think people should be more accepting of this and i think the reverse. one more thing. suppose we all become more accepting of them ... would there be any reason which would justify why they cannot get married. i mean wont it be kinda weird where everyone accepts their way of life but still they are not able to get married? and once they get married, they become no different from any other heterosexual couple. doesnt problems start there?

I agree with you. Also I am against them being socially accepted but my way of dealing with the problem is passive resistance.if we show them any kind of denial or acceptance, they will have a reason to stand up against or for it. If they harbor feelings for same sex, then let them be but just stop them from propagating it. Thats why same sex marital laws ahould not be passed and adoption should be prohibited. All I am trying to say is PPl should have complete freedom about their sexuality and feelings as long as they dont cross boundaries of the laid down rules of the society. Its just that i dont want an environment with psychologically weird ppl affecting the future generation.
