When demand rises it triggers off the supply. In India its mainly the IT sector doing extremely well hence the demand. The manufacturing is rising also because of this plus the credit offered by the institutions. Investments in shares from overseas has seen a rise in the sensex and now that they are withdrawing their money its down. Economy of USA is 5-6 times more than that of china and inspite of what our leaders say we are dependent on the USA and Europe markets. We are in a volotile situation as some of us are very fortunate while others cannot afford even a meal or roof over their heads. In between lies the truth of our economy. As individuals we must do what will enable us to get jobs and earn a living and can contribute to the GDP.

yes right now we are still dependent on the US but slowly and surely the wheels will turn around and it is western countries which will have to depend on India to provide labour of all kind(high, low, medium) so that they float around. The rise of China and India is inevitable and inexorable. It is driven by simple demographics.

and India will explode with population bomb. just 2% of land area of the world having 20% to 30% of people of the world by 2040, and most of them really poor like dirt. Farmers are killing themselves and agriculture will be destroyed. Already India has to import wheat, and all the pulses from abroad.

Already no city in India is fit to live for HUMANS even if you are a billionaire, you have to deal with maddening crowds, dust, and pollution.
Out of top 20 most polluted cities 14 are in China, and rest in India.

man ur US healthcare is collapsing quickly and people in US are coming to India for dental checkups. What is this you go on about USA/Canada. Everything depends on how much money you have and I have lots of it, so I dont worry about all that. Forests etc leave all that and prepare for the 2nd great depression. It boils down to individual richness and I am sure I am more richer than you fool. On and on you go about this and that. And by the way I have none of the diseases that you mentioned about. You are just being a communist coz only communits talk negative all the time. Just because you went to US and did some lousy software coolie job it has gone to your head.

Okay I don't mean to be rude but obviously neither of u is really understanding the crux of the issue. I am an architect and i have stayed in India most of my life.currently i'm in Italy studying Industrial design.Since I am competent to comment let me tell you New Delhi is a very well deisgned city.European cities have very good infrastructure but they are really not much better off than we are. Even here there are the same urban problems which Indian cities face-to some extent. Westereners hold India in very high regard. I have met many imp people during my academic carrier including Mukesh Ambani, and Amartya Sen and all of them were equally optimistic about India. As i'm going to be an automobile designer next month with Volvo of Sweden I can tell you india buys more cars than all of Europe combined. So stop crying u fool, its because of under acheiving pessimists such as yourself that we are still a developing nation.
If you stay in delhi i bet you break traffic rules, bribe officials, swear on the other drivers while driving, not respect womwen drivers. its because of people like u that India is dirty. And now u want to leave India for another country, where you will be well behaved but not in India. Why? And don't talk to me about money. It isn't a measure of anything.I earn 1/2 million Euros a year, which is more money you'll ever see in your lifetime. And i'm only 24. Think about it.

Economic superpower to le ke chatega kya jab lok cancer aur heart diseases diabetes asthma se mar rahe hongey ?
Do you know India is aids, asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseaase capital of the world.
I would prefer better to live in Canada or USA which is spread out and has 35% forests land as compared with 10% for India with 4 times higher population.

why are you comparing about HDI, I am talking about economics, yes I agree HDI of India is bad and will remain so for a long time(uptil 2050) but in terms of economic power, Indias clout is going to increase year by year.
