Budget: Do FM and PM have a free hand
by Rajesh Vyas on Feb 25, 2008 11:20 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

The lefitsts will make sure that the PM and FM will not be able to take progressive steps to propel the economy at even a faster rate.

As long as the shackles are on,the FM and PM will be constrained to take bold steps.

Another important issue is--Do they have the will to take bold steps.

Chidambaram does not have the frredom enjoyed by Manmohan under P V Narasimha Rao. He was by far the best PM we had in the sixty years of independence. He assured that Punjab remained a part of India. Unfortunately, he did not know how to blow his own trumpet and made way for Sonia Gandhi toe at from a ready platter.

Bah.. educated Kerala..100% literate..Why there is unemployment? The employment Exchange of Kerala shows that if you register today, you will get a job after 48 years. People find no jobs there, fly to Gulf, Mumbai. Commies made this hell. 50 years ago EMS saw to it that no Mallu should live a peaceful life. What Education has gained in Kerala? Unemployment and communism! Political killings are the highest in Kerala especially in Kannur. Don't boast of education. Now even HMT is made scapegoat for giving land for IT park! What was the gain. Nook and corner of Kerala waited for that moment and some officials and many politicians did not even attend the opening, because they were not invited. Bakwas.. they did not get share as bribe. If the palms are greased properly, everythng should have been in order. Education is not the only solution. Willingness to improve the situation is the basic requirement

Is the Left just being targetted or is the Left also sincere in its fight. Tough question. Consider two issues :-
1) The Left's stand on the Nuclear deal. They fought tooth and nail, warned the Govt of serious consequences (read withdrawal of support), yet they did nothing but quietly allowed steps to be taken by the Govt. No judgement on this issue, but just an assessment on the Left's stand.

2) The recent view of the Left regarding increase in fuel prices. They warned the Govt again of serious consequences. Yet, the Govt policy did not change one bit.

May be people are giving the Left more margin than they actually deserve.
