Et tu, Rediff ??
by Ashutosh Phadke on May 01, 2007 12:05 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Such blatant PR plugging was expected only from Times of India / Bennett Coleman. Now, Rediff has fallen for it, too. Et tu, Rediff? Rediff is now officially off my 'favourites' list. Less said of ITC, the better. Try as it might, it can never change its identity from being a 'smoky' cigarette company. Much like a gangster turning politician by doing 'social service'!! Let ITC give up its cigarette business and then compete in the market. Remember, consumers, that the Bingo you are eating should really have a statutory warning saying - 'this packet of Bingo is paid for by the wasted lungs of a billion smokers' !!

ITC is making a conscious move to diversify. It is also engaged in rural upliftment initiatives like the e-choupal (won the best business model award and is now a case study at Harvard). And Bingo Ad campaign is such a refreshing novelty. Cynics like you can never grasp such things.

If the toys are good, sure!

ITC has different divisions, one is of food!
How does it matter?

Pepsi drink may be junk, but if they have another health drink that is good, surely I'd buy.
