any one who r totally brainless n thrash works for these companies ,so it doesnot matter how many attrition happens in these companies and higher studies was such an petty reasons to cover their shamless faces.

I once heard a famous personality talk about these "slender" IT graduates (Electronics, CS, IS and Telecom) and how sissy like they are. In fact he called them highly paid call center employees. He advocated youngsters to opt for manly and real hard working branches such as mechanical and civil which is real engineering. I think the chips manufacturing for these sissys is also designed and manufactured by mechanical engineers. Being myself a mechanical engineer I fully agree with the great person and appeal to all future engnieering aspirants to opt for the evergreen branches namely mechanical, civil and electrical and shun the other branches which are only the off-shoots of the main branches.

U know so many of my Friends in Mechanical Engineering branch moved to IT or desparately wants to move to IT... I can think of where Junk trash coming from... Not hard feelings...but I think u shud agree with me that every one has his utility whether a mechanical engineer or IT... The choice is your...but it should be based on the skills ur trained..not based on riding the bandwagan of IT because its hot today.... Right persons should be in right place

hehehe Mr.Murthy mechanical and civil remain the paternal engineering branches nodoubt about that. but you when you speak in such fashion, it only reminds me of the Indian saying:
100 sunaar ki, 1 lohaar ki
now here 100 and 1 are Dollars we make and lohaar are the mechanical people and we 'sissys' are sunaar.. :)

Dear Sonar, It is not only the moolah which you earn but also the job satisfaction, the thrill to see that what you designed is working. What you maintain is still operating and what you produced is being utilized by the end users with appreciation. Come to the branch of fluid mechaics, theory of machines, maintenance, design and thermal engineering. Nothing can come out without being associated with all of the above! Come to the field of real engineering and see how you succeed in your career. Forget being call center guys and obeying the master. Where is your creative skill? You do everything within the set boundaries.

Ever wonder how the stuff you produce moves around, gets where it needs to get to, gets invoiced and billed and a whole lot of other stuff without which what you mentioned above is but a mere shopfloor activity. Ever thought of how u get to make calls on ur cell fone ? how it gets billed , how u get connected and how the services are provided ? No offense taken against any of the "traditional" branches , but ignorance or a very little bit of knowledge is very dangerous and really makes you look ridiculously silly.

Moving around a stuff is by courier/carrier. Where it goes by postman. Invoicing by babus, billing by bania, and whole lot of other stuff ---- ????? Who makes the cell phones? Who designs them? Do you know what material is used to make it? Very little bit of knowledg? Well said!
