Will BPO face staffing crisis?

I would like to congratulate Rediff for putting up such articles. I think we should take initiative to take print outs of this article and put it on the notice board of all the colleges in the country. I think it's an eye opener and will help a lot young people in managing thier career.
I would like to explain with my own example. I have an exp of more than 2 yrs in the BPO industry. I have worked with some of the best companies aroung( one of them being the Big Blue) When I enetrd this industry I was not sure of my career path. I got aquainted with the way BPO works. I started performing well and became St Tech Support Executive in 1 yr. Though my job profile remained the same. Things were working fine for me. I kept putting up excellent performance. Won a lot of appreciation certificates and letters. I was also responsible for contributing for the development of the support for a fortune 500 client for which we were working for. But my job profile remained same taking calls 8hrs a day.
The management was very happy with me. Then I got an opputrtunity to move up a small step. The company came out with a unique designation. The profile was different from a regular caller cont..
