From the posted comments, the following conclusions can be made: -A woman is not a human being, but she should follow the dictats of men blindly. -She should not think for herself. -She has no right to decide whether she wants to work outside the home or not. -If she works, she does not have the right to decide why she should work - for keeping the home fires burning/ for extra bucks/to put her education to use/merely for 'timepass' -If a woman has decided to work, she should accept sexual harassment at workplace as part of the package -Woman invites sexual harassment through their clothes and behaviour all the time!
If these are the opinions of the so called educated men, then I can't help but pity their female relatives. Anger is too little an emotion to express my feelings. The women of our country are really unlucky to have such malefolk around in the forms of fathers, brothers, husbands and colleagues. No wonder even a multinational like KPMG could not do justice to its female employee. If you do not respect women then that really reflects on your flawed upbringing.Men out there holding high profile jobs and posting all nonsense in rediff, I am really astonished to find that technology has not changed your feudal mindset even a bit What a pity!

1. You are one of those women who are responsible for the west-like situation in Indian culture and society which is again no good to women. Don't be surprised if you see the number of sexual crimes (so called by an women but happened with mutual consent only....God must be having hard time finding a bug in his code of women mind), suicides, depression, abortion etc in India surpasses the numbers in west. 2. You please keep your sympathy with you. Our female relatives are thousand times happier than you. Pity on you who can't digest it and trying to provoke them with all kind of false women rights principles. And pity on your male relatives, my sympathy is with them. 3. I guess you like the kind of males in west countries who will enjoy with you right from the age of 14 years, will make you go for abortion(s), suicide attempts, depression pills etc etc, and then break up with you just before the engagement and ..........Now please don't tell me its our mentality. Its all facts which all you over-educated women must be aware of. 4. You are right. Those who don't respect women are definitely brought up by over-educated and independent women like you only, because what all they have learnt from you is to simply care about you (by crying in terms of "humanity" and "equality"). 5. Technology is created by human mind, and human mind was created by God/Nature. How can tachnology change a mindset? A little common sense would have saved you from being astonished. -4 DEB and Pearl

Hey Sudip, we should not comment negetive just because a lady is a receptionist. God HAS made all humans, male or female, ALIKE. Do not demean anyones existance. Respect all, otherwise you cannot repect urself. There does exist sexual harrasment both for men as well as women and therefore we should take care of our future generation on what we are teaching them and not show them he or she is superior to anyone. I totally agree with Debabrati and sudips comments confuse me and are demeaning.

Many misuse the right given to women as a whole.Only one reason is that they are right others are at wrong... most situations.. say more than 90% of the cases.Men are being harassed by women.. I think men should have equal rights with men in all the powers she has. That way we can do justice to all men who are the victims of this behaviour.

some of your conclusions are apt but it is unfair to come to a conclusion in the case of KPMG given that the matter is under investigation and the lady concerned itself refused to attend hearings although the norms followed the firm were as per supreme court guidelines. i think rediff has asked the appropriate question that what amounts to sexual harassment? in many parts of the world the focus is whether sex was sought. in the case of kpmg, the lady's statement of 21 pages does not exactly suggest that the same was asked of her. rajeev shukla
