Do they have moral right ?
by bathala ramanamurthy on Feb 20, 2007 07:24 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hi everybody,
One question to the company HRs. Do they follow ethics? Every company offer letter is confidential beteen the company and the employee. The companies are asking the previous company offer/appointment letter. How can company ABC take the confidential letter of company XYZ? It is illegal to have other company's confidential documents in your company's HR cabins. Do you thinks company's are following ethics here. If they don't follow do you think they have right to remove those who "doctored" their CV? I think ethics are to teach to other not to follow

Another point about HR ethics. The HRs in our Indian companies hit the roof if one of their own employees resing in a short notice. Lot of fundas are given about work etchis, professionalism etc. But when someone from another office applies to their own companies and says he/she wants more time to join as they have some notice period, it is the same HRs who push all their tall talk about ethics and professionalism to the back seat and make an offer saying quit anf join immediately, we will pay your notice period amount. Well if you can buy someone be prepared for the fact that the same person can be bought by others also!!! The word Human Resources itself seems to be a oxymoron. Humans are not supposed to be resources. There is always lectures that "equipments can be replaced but not people" but equipments in an office are in most cases treated better than people.

Yes. You are right. Most of the people just talk about ethics but not follow ethics. People who would have lost job due to faking CVs might have followed ethics through out and just this would be a single mistake and they have to face the problem due to this single mistake.

If companies are firing people for faking CVs, they must fire those also who recruited them, because while recruiting such people, those HR people were not responsible enough. If seniors can make crimes why not a junior?
