We doff our hats off in admiration to the efforts of Infosys in creating world class IT services and at the same time supplying jobs to society while creating affluence. In this regard it is inevitable that Infosys starts a center of education like an Institute of IT for gaining students through full time, part time and distance education programmes, these students will help power Infosys ahead. Further this institute can also serve as a Research and Development center. In partnership with other colleges the Infosys Institute of IT can help strengthen the IT educational infrastructure. _ Sunil S Chiplunkar

Hi!,
What is the great contribution of Infosys towards Computer Science? I've worked in Infy for 2months. I left Infy just because I felt like I'll be wasting my career.
Why Infy is recruiting people from top institutes like IIT, REC etc. and simply make them do some data base or Java stuff? Whatever you study from your college doesn't make much sense when you start working in such companies. All they want some people who are ready to study and do anything which is no way related to what they have studied in college. They don't require your knowledge or what your skills are, they just want the degree you have and a mindset to study and do anything they teach.
How competent are the Infy guys on an average compared with people who work in some good companies in the same domain? I personally know many talented people who have wasted their career, just because they got a job offer from the most reputed company Infosys.
I appreciate the fact that Infy gives jobs for many people. But I don't support their view that, they are looking out for one's learnability (learn anything) alone. What is the contribution of such a great company for Information Technology?

You are right its very unfair....In fact the guy who manages the security or the cafeteria must also be given the chance to write software or manage large IT projects.
Just because he/she is not an engineer should be no reason that the person be denied the chance
Sir....life is always a little unfair. Better opportunities always go to better equipped people!!
