no doubt the author must have told the hotel staff that he had come for a review write up. I am a frequent visitor to hotels in that area. When I visited Karim's, the Sheermaal- a traditional sweet naan (bread)was served by frying a refrigerated piece without defrosting (quick service). the chicken curry and chicken biryani was mostly the neck pieces and cold to boot! Karim's has become a victim of its own success. in fact the hotels next door- though not so well known- are much better.

from time to time i have read articles about Karim's and was even recommeded by various people and had been tempted to eat there. so far i had eaten there 4 times and all those time i found nothing special about it. i wondered what the hype was about. actually speaking, all of old delhi area especially walled city has various gastronomical treats to offer which are remeniscent of an era goneby. you can sample these great tastes all over old delhi, not only at karim's. Karim's is only over-hyped.
