I felt like laughing after reading your article.A spinner who was taken apart in most of his matches by the brilliant indian batting talking big things about something unknown to him. Whenever Gavin walked out to bowl, Tendulkar and at times Sidhu were out of theie creases to put the bowl out of their park.It was an open invitation like. So when you talk big things i assume the person have the pedigree to do that. But not you Gavin.
Then about Australian's,the whole world knows that Australia are the worst behaved team on the field. And when the Indians mimiced them for once why to get upset with that.Fox Sports says this is indecent cricket.I want to ask you do any of the Aussies know what is decent cricket??
So no more comments on these article which is just a result of a frustrated mind.

That was kinda rude to Gavin, Dear Dilip. Gavin may not have achieved what Warne achieved but he has a very valid point in his article.
You and probably most of the readers who commented to this article have not quite understood what Gavin is saying.
What he means is this ...
Sledge and by all means irritate the opposition but only to buckle him and not to strengthen him.
We may be matching the Aussies vocally but as of now, we are not quite matching them in performance.
See, in the first 4 ODI's, we can see the huge diff. in the performance of the two teams in similar situations ... their opening vs our opening; their target defending ability vs ours; their ability to come back and to sustain an onslaught of Yuvraj vs our ability to stop Michael Clark.
I am not being pessimistic about India. I know Indians are slowly getting under the skins of Aussies and it is showing.
I also believe that it was Ponting and Symonds who started the fire and r now running rather annoyed and startled atfer India's refusal to give up.
The 5th ODI will be a crucial one, not just from the series point of view but also from a long term point of view ....... if India wins it, it will surely put Aussies under a lot of pressure since it was Ponting who had said that he intends to win every match in the Future Cup but then wud have squandered a 2-0 lead.
However, the point here is winning and leaving the Aussies smarting after defeat.
Sleding shud get to the mind of opposition and not ur own

My point was not that India should continue sledging and lose their concentration on the game. What i meant was Australia got a taste of their own medicine. For that they shouldn't blame India. This is what they have been doing for years.Gleen mcgrath regarded as the best bowler never knew how to behave on the field, and so if some one speaks about decency on the ground i can't stand that.He was not even once reprimanded for that. Then, these are pressure tactics from the australian press to take India away from what their real duty is.So we shouldn't fall for these sort of silly allegations made against us.Take the bull by its horns...
There is no written rule on how to sledge, whatever way its done,it remains as sledging regardless of the race...

and the fact remains that we have taken up sledging as a permanent task but rather as a transient thing esp. against the Aussies. But the Aussies have been doing it since long and against every team, so they ought to know more about it, its advantages and its pitfalls.
Its always better to play to ur own strenghts and to exploit ur opposition's weaknesses.
Sresanth shud sledge and he shud get under the Aussies skin as much as he wants, but some of his antics have been rather stupid and in poor taste ... taking a 3 wicket haul for 56 is not a good proof of u sledging being a success ... but dropping a lollypop catch of ur own bowling isa sure sign of ur own sledging getting to u and putting u urself under pressure.
A true sledge keeps himself free of all pressure and gives it to the opposition; clenching fists and tuttering teeth and loud screms etc will only put the doer under pressure, not the watcher will be more bemused and happy than feeling sledged ........
