Hats off to NRI Hindu brothern !!!
by Anchoori Mallaiah on Apr 23, 2008 01:01 AM

It is very heartening & gratifying to note that Hinduism and its culture are propogated wholeheatredly on a high scale in USA by the NR.They are not forgetting our civilisation, tradions, cultures & celebrate everything connected to them-say festivals,or all religous on a grand scale. And when such things come, they remain more united and unequivocal.Excellent Hindu temples of Balaji at Pitsburg,Chicago, Houstn etc and Swamy Narayan temple at various parts of US stand testimony for their profound and unstinted respect, devotion & dedication for Hinduism which is unparallel in its richness of values. It is a matter of great pride that such a massive temple with an array of activities is springing up at New York /New Jersy commensurate to the size of the twin cities. These NRI Hindu guys are becoming role models even for the resident Hindus who are, being busy with their routine, slowly forgetting their culture. Our customs, food, values, music & philosophy are being emulated by Americans owing to their inherent richness while native Hindus are forgetting.I wondered when I found the violinist in a music concert of a famous play back Telugu singer to be an American. As part of their weekly curriculum, most of the Hindu parents in US send their children to Chinmaya Mission despite their busy schedule, while in India,we do not bother to ensure a weekly visit even to a nearby temple, Hinduism, thanks to the enlightened Hindu NRIs, is certainly growing more outside than in India.Hats off!!
