The recent results of Punjab and Uttaranchal do not augur well for the Congress.
The Congress should join hands with BSP, CPI and other like-minded parties and form a front agsinst SP as well as the BJP.
Muslim leader like Rashid Alvi, A R Antulay etc. should be roped in besides others having skills and secular credentials. Salman Khurshid has failed miserably in mobilizing tyhe grass root workers against the misrule of SP. At the outset the SP and BJP clearly appear to be "hand in glove".
The Congress lacks leaders with/of mass appeal at regional levels. Prabha Rau and Margaret Alva are cases in point. They have terribly mismanaged the Congress affairs in Maharashtra and I see the same for UP unless Congress takes some dratic measures.
The Congress faces an uphill task in UP, but with proper management of resources and roping in good leader feeling the pulse of the grass root situation and cadres, it can fare better. Wake up Congress!!! All the best!!! It's now or never for you!
