RE:What Pranab Mukharjee DID FOR W.BENGAL
by Praiti Gupt on Jun 22, 2007 03:13 PM

" The value of each MLA's vote is arrived at by dividing the population of the state by the number of seats in the assembly. The figure is then multiplied by 1000." Can anyone explain this ? Say in West Bengal, with a population of 5 crores and 293 Assembly seats, the value of each MLA's vote, as per the above formula, is {50000000/293}x 1000 = 170648464 ?? ! That is absurd! Something must be wrong! Can anyone help?
