Hello Anand, Every govt rule in a govt dept is not defined in constitution. Simialrly every thing is not referenced to Vedas alone. Vedas is like constitution . There are agama sastras which guide and spell the procedures for conducting rituals and ceremonies in Temples. The sastras are voluminous and the Tantri of guruvayoor is one of the persons who had been taught about them. When your Doctor prescribes a medicine , do you every time ask him to show the Page no and Volume No of the Medicine book?
Now coming to suddhi- it is a puification ceremony. it is done on many occasions. When a devotee collapses in the prmises of teh temple shuddi is one. That does not mean that we are showing disrespect to the Dead person .
The interview of Tantri is matured and reasoned one. Let us allow the Tantri to run the rituals of the temple as long as he follows teh Sastras.
