Dear Friend, The important point to understand is the fairness of a trial. Sanjay Dutt had nothing to do what so ever with the blast. He did not plan, support nor did he execute in the blast. So he is not responsible in any way whatsoever for any deaths or injuries of the blast. He was penalized for possessing arms. Unfortunately those arms were acquired through wrong means I agree. If judge says that he acquired the arms when he was of a mature age, this is relative. How many early 30 aged people are always mature in their thinking. Be realistic guys. Specially a person who was under the influence of drugs, how can you expect his judgment to be mature? I would rather proclaim this a wrong act done by a mentally unstable person. Those underworld guys used this misleaded youngster as a scapegoat. And as history has always shown innocent people don't know how to save themselves when they fall into such situations. I agree he should have sentenced. But not for as long as long as 6 years specially when he had not committed any crime with the arms he possessed. There should be some scope of bail for him. There is no doubt that he misused his powers or exhibited any other wrong behaviors after he was accused of this unfortunate crime. There is no doubt about his disciplined behavior post the unfortunate phase.
