Nehru and Women
by unni krishnan nair on Jul 15, 2007 04:23 PM

Nehru's platonic relation with not only Edwina but with many women is well known amongst people who read beyond the prescribed text books in schools.

He was a perfect womaniser and it appears he inherited it. In *Reminiscence of Nehru Age* M.O.Mathai, former special assistant to PM during Nehrus time, has devoted two chapters to deal with this subject.

In chapter *Nehru and Women* he mentions the names of Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, Padmaja Naidu and a lady from from Bangalore (a swamini) and of course Edwina.

Under another chapter *she* there is a small note to say that the chapter written about Nehru in D.H.Lawrence style was withdrawn in the last minute by the publisher obviously because it could prove too much for the Nehru family. Bits and pieces from this chapter however surfaced in the Delhi press when Maneka Gandhi was ousted from the residence of Indira Gandhi after Sanjay Gandhis death and efforts to tarnish the image of Maneka by publishing bad reports of her family was in full swing.

After reading these reports on would think that Nehru was so potent that he could impregnate a woman specie from miles.
