I don't know if I was not ambigous in my post. I made it clear that the fact that a muslim from indian origin was selected over muslims from other countries speaks volumes about our country where we have freedom to learn Islam in its true essence. Those who think Indian muslims are lesser belong to Pakistan most of the time. The country which was formed for the so called cause of securing Islam and muslims has done nothing but to put muslims to shame.
Having said that I would urge my Indian brothers to stop muslim bashing when there is really no need to do that.
Some body here made a comment that Islam teaches hatered. My hindu friend what does sites like www.hinduunity.org teach? Love for people from other faiths?
How much love hindus have for backward classes and dalits?
I had been to Washington DC and there I was surprised to see monuments of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and people praising them because they thought about black slaves 200 years back. Islam talked about ending slavery , equality and women getting their share in property etc etc 1400 years back.
If you only want to see -ve aspect then you will only see them and will never see ve aspects and hence your comments won't be credible because they are one sided.
I am a muslim and proud to a muslim and proud to be Indian as well. Incidents like Gujrat riots and Babri Masjid and other insulting remarks hurt my feelings but doesn't make me paint single hindu with same brush and hate all of them. I still appreciate the greatness of Indian people and don't start bashing them when it is totally uncalled for.
Sometimes I think India is still united because of muslims. There is so much differences among non muslims ( caste , language , states etc etc) if they get united then it is only to oppose muslims.
