Hinduism indeed is not Sikhism. In fact Hindu is an umbrella word given by the Arabs to pagan worshipers and their million gods across Sindhu river.

It is only during the Bhakti movement that Ram and Krishna became mainstream gods. In ancient India Shiva and Buddhism/Jainism were more popular.
